Tour to Cascais and Sintra

The best of Portugal’s coastline on an unforgettable 5-hour journey

The experience begins with a direct drive to Cascais, a former fishing village that, in the 1940s, was chosen as a residence by exiled European royalty.

After regrouping at the time and place arranged by your guide, the journey continues to Cabo da Roca — the westernmost point of mainland Europe. Sit back and relax as you travel along the breathtaking coastal road enjoying scenic views along the way with its magnificent beach areas and cliffs.

Here, you’ll stop briefly to capture stunning photos of endless Atlantic views.

The experience continue with a drive to the magical town of Sintra, a small village in the forest of the Serra de Sintra, immortalized as a “Glorious Eden” by the world-famous poet Lord Byron.

Here you’ll enjoy 1h30 of free time to explore the village at your own pace. Wander through charming streets, admire fairytale-like palaces, or simply soak in the unique atmosphere of this UNESCO-listed destination. You can have a delicious break at Piriquita, a famous, family-run establishment pastry shop in the heart of Sintra that serve iconic pastries since 1862.

The most typical cake of Sintra is the Travesseiros de Sintra. These are puff pastry pastries filled with a delicious almond cream. They’re sweet, light, and flaky, and are a must-try when visiting the town. The almond filling gives them a unique, rich flavor that perfectly complements the delicate layers of pastry. Make sure to enjoy it with a coffee or a Portuguese “Ginja” (a cherry liquor) if you’re in the mood for something more festive!

A perfect blend of culture, nature, and unforgettable landscapes — all in one seamless experience.

Departure of buses from Instituto Superior Técnico. The tour concludes conveniently at the event location.
